Carey’s triple-double enough for Rams to hold off Warriors

A player does not have to score to make a big impact, and Sierra Carey epitomized that Friday night. The junior do-everything guard posted a triple-double — and nearly a quadruple-double — and though she missed two free throws at the end of the game, she helped Upper Sandusky hold off Mohawk, 49-47, with her defense.

Pandora-Gilboa holds off Riverdale, 45-44

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale nearly won the game on a half-court heave at the final buzzer, but the shot bounced off the backboard and the rim and the Falcons fell at home Friday against Pandora-Gilboa, 45-44. After a turnover, the Falcons fouled with 2.4 seconds remaining.

MORRAL — Carey outscored Ridgedale 50-4 in the first half of a 75-28 victory on Friday, earning its seventh straight win to start the season. Sydney Kin led all scorers with 15 points, and Shelby Kin scored 12 points.

ATTICA — When a team scores more than 100 points, it is easy to think it was because of great offense — and it probably was in part — but defense led the way for Upper Sandusky on Thursday night in its 108-48 win at Seneca East.

Holderman leads Falcons to easy win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Sydney Holderman scored 26 points, and Janessa Taylor added 17 points as Riverdale rolled to a 70-37 victory against Hopewell-Loudon in a Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball game Thursday night.

Miller City defeats Riverdale, 54-43

MILLER CITY — Noah Hough scored 19 points for Riverdale in a 54-43 loss at Miller City in a non-league boys basketball game Thursday. The Falcons fell behind 14-6 after the first quarter, and Miller City stayed in control the rest of the way.
