MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale won a close first set before taking its non-league volleyball match in three against Waynesfield-Goshen on Saturday, 25-23, 25-5, 25-17. Taylor Farmer was dominant from the service line for the Falcons (9-12), going 31-of-32 with seven aces. Farmer also went 44-of-45 setting with 14 assists and recorded four kills, 13 digs and a block.

Upper Sandusky earned a No. 3 seed and a first-round bye as sectional and district volleyball draws were held Sunday. The Rams (17-2) will host a sectional final match against the winner of No. 6 Clear Fork (12-6) and No. 8 Oak Harbor (10-7) at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22. The Colts and Rockets play at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Clear Fork.

Riverdale earned the No. 2 seed in girls soccer district draws held Sunday. In Division III action in the Findlay district, sectional semifinal matches are at 5 p.m. Oct. 20, with sectional final matches at 2 p.m. Oct. 24.

Riverdale earned the No. 3 seed and a sectional semifinal bye in the Division III Tiffin Columbian district as sectional and district boys soccer draws were held Sunday.

MILLER CITY — Taylor Frey scored both goals for Riverdale in a 2-2 draw in a non-conference girls soccer match Saturday. Liz Klear and Kasey Tripp had goals for the Wildcats (5-7-3).

BOWLING GREEN — Mohawk’s hope of qualifying for the state golf tournament came up short Thursday in Division III district play at Stone Ridge Golf Club near Bowling Green.

Upper Sandusky remained perfect in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball matches Thursday with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-23 win over Wynford. The Rams, who already had clinched their fourth straight league title and second straight outright Northern 10 title coming in, are 33-0 in Northern 10 matches since the conference came together last season.

CAREY — Senior Shelby Kin became the first Carey player ever to record 1,000 kills in her career, and Carey defeated Bucyrus, 25-18, 25-17, 25-14, on Thursday night.
