RAWSON — Mohawk suffered a 5-1 loss in its North Central Ohio Soccer Association girls soccer opener against Cory-Rawson on Tuesday. Carolina Schutz and Becka Schutz had first-half goals for the Hornets (2-0, 1-0 NCOSA).

The Mohawk seventh grade football team defeated Bucyrus, 22-6, on Tuesday. Trey Combs threw touchdown passes of 49 and 62 yards to Austin Tusing, and Jesse Leeth had a 1-yard touchdown run. Combs threw a two-point conversion pass to Mason Danner. On defense, Troy Russell had a fumble recovery for the Warriors.

CRESTLINE — Wynford topped Crestline and lost to Ridgedale in a non-conference golf tri-match Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course. The Rockets topped the Royals, 189-209, and the Bulldogs finished with a 244.

CAREY — Sydney Wentling had eight kills and 30 assists, and the Carey volleyball team defeated rival New Riegel for the first time since 1997 with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-14 victory Monday.

Brayden Dunlap shot a 39, and Mohawk stayed undefeated in Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf play with an easy 166-229 victory against Bucyrus on Monday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club.

BUCYRUS — Carey earned its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf win of the year by beating Bucyrus, 182-209, on Monday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.

GALION — The Upper Sandusky girls tennis team had an easy time in a 4-1 victory against Galion on Monday at Heise Park. The Rams (7-2) dominated doubles play. Nadia English and Hope Voorhees defeated Dani Court and Tori Chandler, 6-2, 6-1, in the No. 1 doubles match...

KENTON — The Upper Sandusky girls soccer team used a late goal to defeat Kenton, 2-1, and held off a surge by the Kenton in the second half to claim the victory. The Rams (3-0) got the winning goal in the 75th minute from Brooke Miller.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Justin Riegle scored five goals and assisted on the other as the Riverdale boys soccer team picked up its first victory of the season, 6-3, against Miller City on Saturday night.
