Rams down Barons, 3-2

DELAWARE — For the second time in two matches this season, the Upper Sandusky girls tennis team was a 3-2 winner, this time defeating Buckeye Valley in Delaware on Wednesday.

Treacherous No. 1

The No. 1 hole at Lincoln Hills Golf Club didn’t serve the home Upper Sandusky golf team well Tuesday as four of the six players carded an eight or higher in a 176-185 loss to Kenton.

Kimmet leads Carey with 83

HARROD — Alex Kimmet shot an 83 to lead Carey to an eighth-place finish in its season-opening tournament, the Colonial Golfers Club Invitational hosted by Allen East. The Blue Devils finished with a 365. Liberty-Benton was the champion with a 324 in the 19-team tournament, beating Lima Bath by seven strokes.

Upper opens season with win over Kenton

The Upper Sandusky girls tennis team opened its season with a tightly-contested 3-2 victory against Kenton at home Monday. The Wildcats took the victories at No. 1 singles and doubles but the Rams earned the other three wins.

Local boys represent Ohio

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Kaden Holman, of Upper Sandusky, and Grant McGuire, of Wynford, played for the 9-and-younger All-Ohio baseball team at Grand Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, last weekend. The two boys were members of the local 9U Wyandot Boys team this summer and were two of 13 boys on the Ohio roster.

Mohawk thumps BC in first N10 match of year

NEW WASHINGTON — Mohawk began its defense of its Northern 10 Athletic Conference championship in resounding fashion Monday, defeating Buckeye Central, 153-185, in a dual at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Chet Margraf was medalist with a 2-over par 37, which was one stroke better than teammates Brayden Dunlap and Billy Dunlap with 38s.
