Mohawk outlasted Upper Sandusky in a low-scoring seventh grade girls basketball game on Thursday, 13-9. The Warriors built a 9-0 lead by halftime and held off the Rams’ comeback effort in the second half.
MARION — Freshman Kami Swartz broke the school record in the 100 fly and was part of four first-place finishes as Upper Sandusky’s girls and boys won a swim meet Wednesday at the Marion YMCA.
For Cody Gabriel, becoming a pitcher was a process that began 10 years ago. The southpaw started playing baseball at age 8 and transitioned to travel ball at age 12. Now, the Upper Sandusky senior will continue to play beyond this spring as a member of Cuyahoga Community College’s 2016 signing class.
Anyone who missed Kevin Schmidt’s 300 game last Tuesday night might consider watching him sometime around 2035. Schmidt, of Lovell, bowled his third career perfect game playing for Schmidt Machine in the Classic League at Wyandot Lanes.
