Taylor-Sheldon gets 300th win as Royals top Bulldogs

BUCYRUS — Coach Amy Taylor-Sheldon picked up her 300th career victory as Wynford topped Crestline, 69-26, in a non-league girls basketball game Saturday. Gretchen Harris led the Royals (6-10) with 18 points, while Tara Zinser finished with 13 points, and Sarah Ogden scored 10 points.

Dyer, Luikart capture titles

RICHWOOD — Matt Luikart and Thurston Dyer won championships as Upper Sandusky placed fifth at the Don Wasserbeck Classic on Saturday at North Union. Noah Clary took his first loss of the year and finished second, while Connor Johnston was third.

Bucyrus rallies for first win

BUCYRUS — Bucyrus rallied from nine points down in the fourth quarter to pick up its first win of the season, 53-45, against Mohawk on Saturday night. The Warriors (3-10, 2-9 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) led 14-8 after one quarter, 20-18 at halftime and 34-27 after three quarters before pushing their advantage to nearly double digits.

Wentling’s 23 lift Blue Devils

CAREY — The Blue Devils rolled to their 15th straight win Saturday, topping Buckeye Central 58-36 in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball match. Sydney Wentling made five 3s and scored a game-high 23 points for Carey (15-0, 12-0), which can secure at least a share of the Northern 10 championship by winning two of its four remaining league games.

Luzader, Griffin spark Carey past Mohawk

SYCAMORE — Early on, both teams were on fire. Late, scoring was hard to come by. It was the middle that determined the winner. Carey went on a 10-0 run in the third quarter that gave it separation to take a 61-51 victory against Mohawk on the road Friday night.
