SYCAMORE — The Carey volleyball team did not have time to dwell on Thursday’s loss to Upper Sandusky. The Blue Devils did not, instead responding with a 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 25-20 victory at rival Mohawk on Monday night.

Upper Sandusky won three of four matches and took the No. 2 doubles match by default against Fostoria on Monday to close the regular season with its 11th win, 4-1.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale lost a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match to McComb, the conference frontrunner, in three sets Monday, 25-17, 25-14, 25-13. Carrol Pauley led the way for the Falcons offense with five kills and two aces.

NORTH ROBINSON — Wynford won its fourth straight match and has won 12 sets in a row with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 victory at Colonel Crawford on Monday night. The Royals (9-7, 6-4 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) have not lost a set since dropping the first one in a 3-1 victory against Bucyrus last Tuesday.

MORRAL — Upper Sandusky volleyball improved to 10-0 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference after winning a quick three-set match at Ridgedale on Monday, 25-9, 25-15, 25-10. Molly Owens had 13 kills on 20-of-22 hitting for the Rams (12-2, 10-0 N10).

SANDUSKY — Special teams lapses early led to Carey trying to dig out of a hole, and it was not able to in a 27-12 loss against Sandusky St. Mary on Saturday night at Strobel Field at Cedar Point Stadium.

Taylor Emerick scored two second-half goals to aide Upper Sandusky’s comeback effort against Mansfield Senior on Saturday. The Rams and Tygers drew, 4-4, in a non-conference boys soccer game.

BUCYRUS — Wynford got a solid non-conference victory and moved above .500 with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 defeat of New Riegel on Saturday.

MARION — Riverdale went 1-2 on Saturday in the Sherrill Applefeller Classic at Elgin. The Falcons lost to Westfall, 25-18, 25-22, and then lost to Hopewell-Loudon, 25-23, 25-16, before defeating Ridgemont, 25-22, 25-14.

ONTARIO — Madelyn Shasteen was seventh to lead the Upper Sandusky girls cross country team in the Bill Brown Invitational on Saturday at Marshall Park in Ontario.
