Harrer, Cooper combine for 20 kills in win

CRESTLINE — Wynford had a relatively easy time against former conference foe Crestline, defeating the Bulldogs in a non-league match, 25-13, 25-12, 25-8, on Thursday night. Alyssa Harrer had 11 kills on 21-of-23 hitting, and Maci Cooper came through with a nine-kill effort on 17-of-18 hitting and added three aces on 21-of-21 serving.

Liberty-Benton, Arlington top Riverdale in BVC tri

ARLINGTON — Liberty-Benton had four players shoot in the 30s as it edged Arlington, 155-157, with Riverdale third with a 237 in a Blanchard Valley Conference tri-match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Arlington’s Cole Thomas was medalist with a 37, and Cody Rettig was one stroke behind, but the Eagles (7-3, 5-1 BVC) had four great rounds.

Carey’s Destiny DeFeo was second in the girls race and Trevor Cook was third in the boys race and Carey’s boys took second Tuesday in the Wynford Invitational. DeFeo finished in 21:26.63, more than 14 seconds behind winner Taylor Harris (21:12.29) of Tiffin Calvert.

SYCAMORE — Once the Mohawk volleyball team got rolling, it was hard to stop. The Warriors dominated the first set, and Wynford never really threatened at any point in the match as Mohawk rolled to a 25-9, 25-18, 25-22 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play Tuesday night.

ATTICA — Jess Holly followed a great week with a great match as Upper Sandusky defeated Seneca East, 25-12, 25-10, 25-17, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday night. After being named the MaxPreps and American Volleyball Coaches Association Ohio Player of the Week, Holly had 15 kills on 23-of-26 hitting, served a pair of aces, was 10-of-10 serve receiving and had 11 digs for the Rams (6-1, 4-0 N10) against the Tigers (3-5, 0-4 N10).
