CAREY — Carey stayed in contention in the Northern 10 Athletic League with a 174-189 victory against Seneca East and also picked up a nonleague win against North Baltimore (191) on Tuesday at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course.
With the win, the Blue Devils (9-3, 5-2 N10) took control of third place in the league over the Tigers (6-3, 3-3 N10).
Carey is within four points of first-place Upper Sandusky in the standings.
McKain Miller paced the Blue Devils and shared medalist honors with Seneca East’s Jake Forehand and North Baltimore’s Jaden Bucher by shooting a 40.
In his final home match, senior Dylan Grothaus carded a 43, which was matched by Ethan Tanner.
Brayden Miller rounded out scoring with a 48.
Carter Frederick (54) and Kole Phillips (56) also played in the varsity lineup.
Andrew Kalb backed Forehand with a 47 for Seneca East, with Andy Bauman shooting a 49 and Turner Bridgeford a 53.
Jon Margraf (55) and Jay Shock (84) also played.
For North Baltimore, Hunter Baker shot a 46, Elias Burleson a 49 and Malachi Peyton-Hobbs a 56.
Carey closes out league play by facing Mohawk at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Seneca Hills Golf Course.
