Robinson shot 94 to help the Royals finish second and advance to the district tournament. GALION — Wynford was edged for the Division II sectional championship but extended its season by qualifying for districts Wednesday in girls golf play at Valley View Golf Course. Northern 10 Athletic Conference rival and runner-up Colonel Crawford edged the champion Wynford 382-384 for first place. Huron was the other sectional qualifier with a 406 team total. Caroline Sheldon paced the Royals with an 89 that concluded with a birdie on No. 18 and ranked fourth in the entire field. Rylee Robinson, with a 93, and Maggie Ridge, with a 97, both ranked in the top 10 of the field, while Megan Young completed the team score by shooting 104. Willa Johnson also competed for Wynford and shot 111. Mansfield St. Peter’s Kim “Joy” Chaeyeon was the individual district champion with an 82. Individual district qualifiers were Chaeyeon, Edison’s Annabelle Seville with an 84, and Clear Fork’s Ella Schmidt with a 90. Schmidt won a one-hole playoff with Buckeye Central’s Liz Krebs, who also shot a 90. The Division III district tournament begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.
