Jones Mansion will hold Haunted History Tour Posted on October 5, 2022 0 FINDLAY — On Oct. 22, the Jones Mansion will be holding its annual Haunted History Tour. Since 2014, these tours have featured local lore, characters, and events that tell the story of our area’s past. 2022 will be no different. This year’s Haunted History Tour will feature the often-misunderstood story behind the 1892 lynching that occurred on the Main Street Bridge. Guests will have the opportunity to hear the true story of one of Findlay’s darkest days. Historical interpreters will be portraying the people who were and will be telling their recollection of events just as it was told to law enforcement and reporters of the time. Years of ongoing research has uncovered new information regarding the people, places, and events that led 2,000 residents taking the law into their own hands. Was it murder or justice? At the end of the tour, we’ll let you decide. Tours will be held from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 22. This event is a timed tour that is expected to last about an hour and a half. Tickets are $10 and are limited and may be reserved by calling Jane at 419-722-7037. If the event is not sold out before Oct. 22, there will be tickets available at the door for $15. Be advised, this tour does feature several flights of stairs. The Jones Mansion is a 155-year historic structure and does not have an elevator. Be advised that this event is a historic true crime story and is not suitable for children. Due to the violence that is associated with this event, it is strongly recommended that children not attend.
