Mohawk kindergarten screening April 7 and 8 Posted on March 9, 2016 0 SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Local School district will host kindergarten screening April 7 and 8 at the MCI building, the former Mohawk High School. Children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 are required by law to register and to be screened. The screening process includes assessments in the areas of vision, hearing, speech and language and general academic readiness skills. Parents and guardians who have a child that will be eligible, are asked to return registration forms or call LuAnn Tooley at 419-927-2595 between 8:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to schedule a specific screening appointment. April 7 and 8 are the only days screening sessions will be offered for Mohawk students. Parents must register for the screening if they want their child to attend kindergarten in the fall.
