Boy escapes from Marion detention Posted on October 6, 2015 0 MARION — Two area schools were on a two-hour delay this morning due to a juvenile allegedly escaping from a detention facility in Marion. The Marion Star reports the male suspect, who was not named by authorities because he is a juvenile, escaped Monday night from the Edward J. Ruzzo Juvenile Justice Center on Mount Vernon Road. A 10TV report identified the suspect as Michael Wilson. He is believed to have jumped a fence and run on foot, according to reports. Twelve hours after the escape, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a search was taking place around U.S. 23 in Delaware County, the Star reported today. Pleasant and River Valley schools were on a two-hour delay due to the escape. The suspect is a black male wearing gray sweatpants and a blue shirt around his waist, according to the MCSO. He was described as being 6 feet, 5 inches tall and around 190 pounds with dreadlocks. A combined dispatch center with the Marion Police Department received calls saying the suspect was seen in the area, the Star reported. Buckeye Valley schools were on lockdown. Law enforcement agencies searching the area with K9 units include Marion city and county, Delaware County and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
