FOSTORIA — AgCredit, one of northern Ohio’s largest lenders for farmers, agribusinesses, and rural homeowners, is pleased to announce the results of its recent board of directors election.

The successful candidates were Lisa Heiser, of Attica, representing Region 5, which includes Seneca County; Joel Albright, of Willard, representing Region 8, consisting of Erie, Huron and Lorain counties; and Michael Thiel, of Upper Sandusky, representing Region 6 containing Marion and Wyandot counties.

Heiser and Albright are both serving in their first term on the 10-member board, while Thiel will be serving his fourth term, originally elected in 2015.

All three delegates bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the AgCredit board.

Heiser has 12 years of experience at a local cooperative, has spent time with the USDA’s Farm Service Agency, is now employed with Simplot Grower Solutions and serves as Venice Township’s fiscal officer.

Albright has served on the American Jersey Cattle Association Board, The Ohio FFA board of trustees, and has been an agriculture education instructor for 17 years.

Thiel, in addition to past local leadership experience, is part of an 1,100-acre family operation producing row crops and runs a 25-head Angus-based cow-calf operation.

AgCredit’s board of directors includes eight members who are elected by stockholders; the remaining two are board appointments to ensure diversity and a range of experience.

The 18 members of AgCredit’s Nominating Committee — one representing each of the 18 northern Ohio counties that AgCredit serves — identify the candidates to fill any seats that may be open on the board of directors. A list of the 2025 nominating committee members can be at www.agcredit.net/about/leadership/board-directors/committees.

A cooperative lender, AgCredit is a member of the Farm Credit System that was created more than 100 years ago to provide a reliable source of funding for the nation’s farmers and ranchers. AgCredit supports rural communities and agriculture with reliable, consistent credit and financial services.
