Morning tanker fire closes 2 central Ohio highways Posted on July 1, 2015 0 COLUMBUS (AP) — Two central Ohio highways have been shut down as crews deal with an overturned tanker truck that caught fire. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. today in the southbound lane of Interstate 270 where it passes under Interstate 70 on the west side of Columbus. The fire extended into the I-70 highway. Authorities say both I-270 and I-70 have been closed in both directions near the crash as crews work to contain the flames. Police say the driver, who was able to escape without serious injury, told authorities the tanker contained about 8,000 gallons of ethanol.
