CAREY — Doris Lortz, of Carey, passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 23, 2025, at the age of 97, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home in Carey. Her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine, also in Carey, with Father Dais officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Salem Township.
For those who wish, memorials in her name may be made to Salem St. Joseph Cemetery perpetual care fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.
In her later years, Doris often commented that she hoped to be remembered as someone who was kind. May we honor her legacy by reaching out to others in kindness.
