Eugene Franklin Best

FINDLAY — Eugene Franklin Best, 82, of Findlay, passed away at 2:42 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

Gene was born on July 30, 1935, in Salem to the late Virgil and Idella (Cornely) Best.

Gene is survived by his children, Rita (Steve) Kuehn, of Oregon; Gin (Perry Inman) Best, of Florida; Roger (Nancy) Best, of Findlay; and John (Erin) Best, of Findlay; grandchildren Britney and Amber Best and Emily Best; and siblings Marge (Al) Linhart and Carol (Norb) Frey.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Whitney Best.

Gene was employed by Kodak, 7-up and Nationwide Insurance before starting Best Realty, which led to real estate development and construction.

Gene loved to travel and enjoyed his many trips to Las Vegas and Lake Erie.

He lived in Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Indiana and Ohio.

Gene was very active in sports in his younger years. His free spirit, sense of humor and perspective on life will be sadly missed.

A private family service will be held.
