Falcons walk off on Karcher double Posted on April 5, 2024 0 Carly Karcher MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carly Karcher’s second double of the day produced a 6-5 walk-off win for Riverdale against Leipsic in nonconference softball play Friday at Riverdale. With the game tied, Mackenzie Furr had a one-out double, and after a walk to Addi Manns, Karcher doubled in the winning run on a line drive to right field. Karcher finished with three RBIs in the game. Leipsic went up 5-2 with two runs in the top of the fifth inning, but Riverdale (5-0) tied it in the bottom of the inning. Furr had two hits and scored twice. Eden Morris singled twice and scored a run. Addie Farmer had the only other Falcons hit and scored once. Farmer (4-0) earned the win, giving up just one earned run on six hits and three walks while blowing away Leipsic with 15 strikeouts. Ava Henry had three hits and scored two runs for the Vikings (2-2). Jocelyn Hermiller was the losing pitcher, giving up four earned runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Riverdale plays at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Ada.
