Frances J. Steinmetz

MARYSVILLE — Frances J. Steinmetz, 64, of Marysville and formerly of Tiffin, died peacefully early Thursday morning, Oct. 17, 2019, at the Kobacker House in Columbus.

Born Sept. 11, 1955, in Cincinnati, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Susan (Mills) Buchanan. On May 9, 1981, at Fort Meyer Chapel in Arlington, Virginia, she married Joel Steinmetz and he survives in Marysville.

She also is survived by her children, Ronald Steinmetz, Brazil; Jaqueline Crook, Oklahoma; and Jessica Steinmetz, Marysville; grandchildren, Evelyn and Viktor; a brother, George David Buchanan, Alabama; brothers-in-law, Pete, Phil and Steve (Kellie) Steinmetz; and a sister-in-law, Jennifer (Mike) Sangregory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Buchanan; and a brother-in-law, Donald Steinmetz.

She was a 1974 graduate of Campbellsville High School in Campbellsville, Kentucky; and was a graduate of the Sullivan Business College in Louisville, Kentucky.

She worked many years as a real estate appraiser, retiring in 2017. She truly enjoyed her retirement project of raising beef cattle. She was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Father Kevin Kavanagh will officiate and burial will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel, 621 W. Fifth St., Marysville.
