James F. Elwood Posted on May 8, 2018 0 FOREST — James F. Elwood, of Forest, died at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018, at his residence. He was 83. Born Feb. 19, 1935, in Hardin County, he was a son of Wilford W. and Martha M. (Callahan) Elwood. He married Joan J. Weber in 1955, and she preceded him in death Oct. 8, 2014. Surviving are a daughter, Julia (Jerry) Messenger, Forest; and sons Randy Elwood, of Texas; and Michael Elwood, of Kenton, three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Elwood, of Indiana; Gary Elwood, of Indiana; and two sisters, Ruth Shaw, of Forest; and Pauline Hamilton, of Forest. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Elwood was the owner/operator of Elwood’s Tree Services for over 65 years. He was a Jackson Township trustee. A funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Clark Shields Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery, Forest.
