Kobe Ratliff, Dash Puckett and Kasen Sherman combined for seven hits, six RBIs and six runs scored, led by Ratliff, who had a double among four hits with three RBIs and three runs. Sherman singled three times and had three RBIs. Bostyn Ritter also had a two-run single. “I was proud of my players for being disciplined at the plate,” Carey coach Eric Mullholand said. “At the plate, on the mound, and in the game in general, we avoided the distractions and took care of business. Kobe and Kasen were on fire at the plate. They have been working hard lately, and it paid dividends. We need others to follow that recipe.” On the mound, Daniel Plott (2-2) got the job done, giving up eight hits and four walks, but he held the Bucks to only two runs in part because of 12 strikeouts. Carey was able to get to Buckeye Central ace Isaac Hiler (2-5). He walked two and struck out five in 6 2/3 innings.
