Sports events to be held at Tree Town Fest Posted on June 24, 2016 0 FOREST — The 2016 Tree Town Festival to be held July 8-10 at Gormley Park in Forest will hold various athletic events for festival goers to participate in again this year. Events include the Tree Town Trot 5K, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a 4-on-4 volleyball tournament and a fishing derby. Additionally, there will be a new “Under the Lights” 3-on-3 soccer tournament for spectators to enjoy. Hosted by the Riverdale High School boys soccer team, the 3-on-3 “Under the Lights” soccer tournament is 7:30 p.m. July 8 in the outfield grass of the big softball field to the north of the park on Zimmerman Street. Registration for the YMCA Tree Town Trot 5k will begin at 7 p.m. July 8 at the corner of Mary and Julia streets in Forest by Gormley Park, and the run will begin at 8:15 p.m. This event is held in conjunction with the Hardin County YMCA. The Hempy Water Conditioning 3-on-3 basketball tournament will register at 8 a.m. July 9 with no entries accepted after 8:30 a.m. Games will begin at 9 a.m. Divisions will include ages 9-11, 12-14, 15-18, 6 feet and under, and open class. The coed 4-on-4 volleyball tournament registers at 8 a.m. and begins at 9 a.m. July 9. At least one male or female must be on the team with a maximum of five players. The fee is $40 per team.
