Wynford boys 2nd, girls 3rd in Buckeye Central Invite

NEW WASHINGTON – Wynford’s boys were runner-up and the girls took third Tuesday in the Buckeye Central Invitational track and field meet.

Northmor won the boys title big with 143.5 points. Wynford scored 81 points. South Central was an even bigger girls winner with 174.5 points. Northmor topped Wynford 103.5-83 for second place.

Anthony Evans won the 400 dash in 52.03 seconds to lead the Royals boys, who also were first in the 800 relay in 1:35.86. Wynford was runner-up in the 400 relay in 46.21.

Kalen Skidmore and Landon Zornes were second and third, respectively, in the discus, throwing 119-11.5 and 118-9. Bryce Locker tied for second in the high jump at 5-6. James Rindfuss added fourth-place finishes in the 100 dash (11.95) and the 200 dash (24.29).

Kenna Caldwell had the only championship for Wynford’s girls, topped 4-10 to win the high jump. She also was third in the 100 dash in 13.74.

Bayleigh Armstrong took third in the 200 dash in 28.85 and third in the 400 dash in 1:06.07. Briana Westrick was third in the 1600 run in 5:53.38, and Madisyn Watkins came in third in the 100 hurdles in 18.95. Zoe Whitmeyer finished third in the high jump by clearing 4-6.

The Royals were third in the 400 relay in 55.15 and third in the 3200 relay in 11:34.78.

Wynford is off until competing in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference meet at 4:30 p.m. May 10 at Bucyrus.
